Frequently Asked Questions
Can I just walk in or do I need an appointment?
We are a by appointment only business. If you need to get in same day please refer to our contact us tab or you can book online.
What exactly are lash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are individual strands of faux lashes expertly attached to each natural eyelash with a special medical grade adhesive. They are applied to the eyelashes themselves and never in direct contact with your skin. Applied on each mature lash for a beautiful look. Extensions are perfect for everyday wear and special occasions. We only use the highest quality faux lashes available on the market. They range in thickness, curl shape and length.
How often do I need a fill?
After your full set application, Fills are recommended every 2-3 weeks depending on various lifestyles, skin types, natural shed cycle and your dedication to aftercare. Your natural eyelashes shed every 45 - 60 days due to your natural growth cycle and are naturally replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. Everyone's shed cycle is different but it is completely normal to shed 1-5 a day, again depending on the person.
Can I get them wet?
Absolutely, as long as you wait 24 hours after your appointment so they have time to fully cure. After the 24 hours they are sweat-proof, water-proof and smudge proof.
Will extensions damage my natural lashes?
If your lash extensions are done by a certified and experienced lash artist and you are following proper aftercare you will not have issues. Lash extensions are not a one size fits all kind of thing. Your natural lash is taken into account when determining what length and weight we are able to use. Lash extensions are applied on one natural lash, giving them room to naturally shed, so not to disrupt the shed cycle.
How do I care for my extensions?
Cleansing your lashes daily with a oil free cleanser will keep your lashes healthy and happy. Lashes love to be clean but hate oil.
We recommend cleansing your lashes with a clean makeup brush, like a eyeshadow blender brush, or gentle with your finger tips. You can wear makeup, but since oil breaks down the adhesive, everything you use near and on the extensions needs to be oil free. You will be given a complete aftercare instructions at your appointment.
Lash aftercare plays a major role in the life of your extensions. That's why Exhale offers a complimentary aftercare kit with each full set.
Can I come to Exhale Beauty Co if I had my extensions done elsewhere?
Yes! Regardless of where you've had your lashes done in the past, you can come to us for any of our services! We can do fill-ins, removals, and even corrective work. However please be aware because of the increasing number of noncertified individuals doing eyelash extensions, we’ve seen many unsafe sets. If you unknowingly trusted someone that was not qualified to perform this service we would be happy to evaluate your lashes and ensure they are healthy, which may include a removal if necessary.
Can I come to my lash appointment with eye make on?
No, Please come in with no eye makeup, when coming to your lash appointments. If your unable to, we do have lash cleanser you may use but it may cut into your appointment time. Extensions will not properly adhere to a dirty lash.
Do you only use one type of wax?
We have both hard and soft wax. Typically we use hard wax for more sensitive areas like the underarms, face and bikini area. While soft wax is used for larger areas like the legs, back and chest.
What is the difference between a extended bikini and a brazilian?
A Brazilian is anything from front to back and everything between according to your preference while a extended bikini goes in further than just the bikini line but doesn't include the labia or butt strip.
How long does the hair have to be to wax?
For the best results the hair needs to be at least the size of a grain of rice. For most people that is about 2 weeks worth of growth.
